The Palm Court Celebrates a Culinary Tradition |
02/02/2011 |
Scottsdale, AZ – The Palm Court at the Scottsdale Resort & Conference Center features Scottsdale’s only extensive tableside dining experience, allowing a perfect mix of classically prepared American Continental cuisine and convivial dining. A perennial list-maker and AAA Four-Diamond award winner, the Palm Court’s approachable menu and warm hospitality allow patrons to experience dining out rather than just eating out. Revered for special occasions for the past 34 years, the Palm Court has consistently captivated diners with its tableside service, elegant décor and beautiful golf course views, all of which have remained a part of the Palm Court’s dining legacy over the years. Today, a relaxed elegance and comfortable American Continental menu provide reasons to dine between special occasions. The tableside service offers somewhat of a “retro” dining experience, while the attitude is anything but stuffy. The Palm Court exudes the easy elegance of a Mexican hacienda. Natural stained ceiling beams add a dramatic architectural dimension to the room. Ornate ironwork enhances the entryway and the wine cellar, drawing attention to the award-winning selection of vintages. Decorated in vibrant hues of jewel tones, the handsome room is generously appointed with leather chairs, fine linens and fragrant heirloom roses, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The romantic strains of live hacienda guitar music nightly complement the ambiance and cuisine. The culinary team approaches the menu with great respect to the accolades the restaurant had consistently garnered. “We preserve those dishes that have been best sellers for years and make them more progressive, sometimes with ingredients, other times with presentation. But we are careful not to cross that line from interesting to intimidating,” said Chef de Cuisine, Ray Anderson. Alongside a succulent Aged Angus Beef Tenderloin carved tableside, or the perfectly seasoned Herb Mustard Crusted Lamb Rack, Anderson melts smoked Gouda into mounds of creamy whipped potatoes, adding just the right “zip” to these American classics. The popular Roast Long Island Duckling is energized by a flavorful Grand Marnier Flambé. Complex sauces continue to be a Palm Court signature with a Lemon Parsley Beurre Blanc accompanying the Pan Seared Veal Medallions and a hearty Cognac Morel Sauce beautifully completing the New York Sirloin. The traditional tableside service provides an “interactive” dining experience. Particularly evident with the salads, servers elicit input from diners, tweaking the dishes to suit their tastes. With three types of croutons and Romano, Asiago and Parmesan cheeses, the Caesar salad is deftly made to each guest’s specifications. Similarly, the Fillet of Dover Sole Amandine is de-boned and finished at the table with a flurry of artistry and showmanship. Desserts are showstoppers to be enjoyed by the entire dining room. Prepared tableside, flaming coffees and Bananas Foster Flambé fill the room with fire, aromas and appreciative “oohs and aahs.” An equally elegant dessert is the Lemon Raspberry Trifle, alternating layers of lemon pound cake, tangy Meyer lemon curd and fresh raspberries, beautifully served in a martini glass. The Palm Court serves breakfast daily from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.; lunch Monday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 2 p.m.; dinner nightly from 6 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Champagne Sunday Brunch is offered from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. For dining information and reservations: (480) 596-7520 or www.opentable.com Benchmark Hospitality International is a leader in the management and marketing of resorts, conference centers, hotels, and Personal Luxury Hotels™.
