BRENDA WESKAMP

General Manager

Brenda Weskamp was appointed General Manager of the Scottsdale Resort & Conference Center in January of 2000. At the helm of this 326-room resort, she guided the resort’s staff through an extensive renovation and repositioning that culminated in September 2003 with the launch of a revamped resort facility to both established meeting guests and newly targeted leisure visitors.

Born and raised in Nebraska, Weskamp began her hotel career at the age of 16 as a weekend housekeeper at the Far West Motel in North Platte, Nebraska. While in college, she worked as the front office manager at a 200-room Holiday Inn.

After graduating with a degree in business administration and management from Kearney State College in Nebraska, Weskamp joined Doubletree Hotels where she rose through the management ranks culminating in general manager positions for Doubletree properties in Houston and Baltimore. In recognition of her strong leadership skills, Doubletree honored her as General Manager of the Year in 1994.

Weskamp has served on the Board of Directors for the Valley Hotel & Resort Association and the Scottsdale Convention & Visitors Bureau. In support of Benchmark Hospitality International’s Hometown Hospitality, she has organized a volunteer program for the resort’s staff, aligning with St. Vincent de Paul, Sierra Vista Academy, and other community organizations.

Weskamp resides in Scottsdale with her dog, Riley. She loves to play golf, hike, cook, entertain and is an avid sports enthusiast.
